The Lama Crew
Sharing Our Love Of Beer With You!
-
PETE BURNHAM, OWNER
Pete likes to say that he blames wine for Lama Dog because, during a long grape harvest several years ago, he got hooked on good beer. This newfound appreciation resulted in a quest for hard-to-find drafts. Fast-forward a few years, and one man’s quest turned into a place where everyone can come enjoy good craft beer. If you’re an IPA lover, be sure to ask Pete what his favorite one is, because that’s what he is usually drinking.

LAMA, THE DOG
The dog behind the name. Lama was a Tibetan Mastiff who was rescued and owned by Pete. With an enormous amount of fur, one blue eye, and one brown eye; he was sure to win you over. Once a staple at the tap room, Lama passed away in May of 2020 and his presence has been deeply missed ever since.
-
FIGGY DUFF BURNHAM
Figgy, a Landseer Newfoundland, is Pete’s newest dog. Figgy can usually be found carrying around a stick or tennis ball. Taking after Lama with his enormous amount of fur and charm, Figgy is also a regular at Lama Dog. While he prefers water, he proudly promotes the best tap room and bottle shop around.
-
KAT, THE TRAVEL BUG & TAP ROOM MANAGER
UCSB alumni from L.A. who loves traveling, reading, working with kids, and of course, craft beer. Send her to a foreign country, and she’ll come back talking only about is the local beer. If she’s not working, she’s probably on her porch reading a good murder mystery, or hanging out around town eating and drinking beer. She enjoys IPAs, and just recently found her love for sours too!
-
CHRIS, BUYER OF BEERS
Curator of cans. Luminary of libations. Chris loves all things beer and brings his artistic eye, and beer geek palate to the table, along with his favorite beers to share, of course. When Chris isn’t researching beer and seeking out new breweries, he’s likely tending to his backyard chickens or hiking the Santa Barbara trails. Feel free to chat with him for all your beer needs.
-
BARBARA, THE VOICE
When she’s not dominating karaoke at the local dives, you can find her singing behind the bar while pouring up some crispy pints. On her free time, she enjoys going on bike rides through town and laying out with a good book, always making sure to swing by Lama Dog to pick up a couple cans of West Coast IPAs from the bottle shop first!
-
DANIELLE SHARKEY, THE JERSEY GIRL
East coast raised, west coast refined. This UCSB alumni has found her bliss in Santa Barbara. She’s happiest hiking with her pup, cooking with friends, or on the beach with a cold beer. When you catch her behind the bar, ask her what her favorite IPA is- she always has a favorite on tap!
-
DANA, SERVING UP SASS
If you frequent Lama Dog enough, you may have seen her gliding in on her roller skates to enjoy a refreshing mid-skate beer. Beyond skating, she loves being outdoors, cozying up with a book and spending time with close friends. When she’s behind the bar, Dana will most likely recommend a funky sour or a Belgian Style and will probably serve up some friendly NY sass as well.
-
FORESTE, SLINGER OF COLD ONES
In true nomadic style Foreste has lived all over California for the last 10 years but always finds his way back to Santa Barbara. If he’s not at the bar slinging cold ones, he’s out living his life long passion on the ice playing hockey. You can also find him running around the local mountain trails or at the beach drinking good beer and eating tacos with friends.
-
GREG, THE PRINCE
From East Sacramento, born and raised, Greg spends most of his days in the taproom. Chillin out, maxin, relaxin all cool, slanging great beer to all the local crews. And if you can’t find him behind the bar, there’s a good chance you’ll see him with a beer in hand on the other side.
